British diesel engine specialist Cox Powertrain has confirmed Fort Lauderdale boat show for the launch of their final concept of game-changing diesel outboard motor, named COX CXO300.
FLIBS will also be the stage for the first pre-production unit of the engine. Delivering 300 hp at the propeller, the Cox CXO300 is the world’s most powerful diesel outboard engine and aims to be a game changer.
The launch of the CXO300 follows an intense ten-year development program by the British engineering specialist. The final engine concept is based on a 4-stroke, V8 architecture with a weight of 375kg. Compared to a same-output gas motor, it will sport higher fuel efficiency, greater range, higher torque and substantial reduction of maintenance cost.
It is predicted that around 90% of Cox engines will be twin installations. As a result, Cox will be offering three lower unit lengths (25”, 30” and 35”) and full joystick capabilities with DPS, GPS and cruise control.
FLIBS, October 31st to
November 4th, will mark the
opening of the order books
for Cox CXO300
Visitors to the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show will be able to see Cox’s pre-production motors on the Intrepid Powerboat booth, where a twin-engine installation will be fitted to the transom of a new Intrepid Centre Console.
FLIBS will also mark the opening of the order books for Cox CXO300 for the American market.
The Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show will take place at the Bahia Mar Yachting Center from October 31st to November 4th.
