Bluegame debuts in Miami with Bluegame BG62 Sport Utility Boat

The Italian boatyard has chosen the Miami International Yachting Show to present the innovative Bluegame BG62. It wants to be a fisherman, a tender, a chase boat and an open boat, all in one.

It’s time for the world-famous Miami International Yachting Show, one of the main boating events in the USA. And it’s time to introduce in the Continent a boat that wants to be different from many others in the sector. Bluegame BG62 has been dubbed by its builders as a “Sport Utility boat”, and although it’s not an innovative definition, still it means a lot in this case.

Different indeed

Conceived by the founder Luca Santella, Bluegame BG62 boats represent a synthesis of different types of boats: the manufacturer names several such as fisherman, tender, chase boat and open boat. All merged into a single one.

Beside the definitions the model surely sports many peculiar features. In a nutshell they are:

  • forward and aft sun lounges
  • walkaround with high sides for safe movements
  • central helm station
  • carbon fiber superstructure and top
  • infusion lamination
  • a spacious deck area, with cockpit salon and galley
  • the central part of the stern that lowers to launch and haul a 12’ tender
  • multipurpose swimming platform with recessed gangway and swimming ladder

Furthermore, Bluegame BG62 performance is ensured by the contributions of Lou Codega, a renowned naval architect with extensive knowledge of every type of boat.

The new model, currently the largest one in the Bluegame line-up,is 18.8 meters long and a 5.37 meters wide. The Volvo Penta IPS propulsion ensures good performance, with low fuel consumption, and especially an easy maneuverability. This is another target of the boatyard, who want their crafts to be piloted by the owner without the need for a crew.

The interior by Zuccon International Project design studio pursues layout flexibility and customized solutions. Below deck Bluegame BG62 features a dining area for eight and two cabins, a king size full beam master room and a double one.

In the aft area a large space can be arranged as crew quarter for one or two crews or as an immense storage area.

White or gray lacquered teak was used for the walls and custom-made furniture, while the slatted floor is designed with similar materials but in a natural hue. The ceilings are lined with a white technical fabric and the dinette can be customized with a choice of fabric or leather upholstery.

Of course what we are most interested to is the performance, as the light construction due to vacuum infusion and carbon-fiber superstructure are excellent starting points. So, stay tuned as we will tell you everything about BG62 as soon as we test it in the water.

Bluegame BG62 will be visible in Miami at the Sanlorenzo stand, which is the parent company of the boatyard.
