Beneteau Gran Turismo 32, the yacht inbetween

Beneteau Gran Turismo 32 is the natural connection between a daycruiser and a motoryacht. Based on the Flyer 10, it carries the personality of the Gran Turismo range.

The challenge of Beneteau designers was to match the spirit of an open boat with that of a spacious hardtop. That is why aboard the Beneteau Gran Turismo 32 the priority is to brightness and ventilation, especially under the hardtop: even the purest supporters of the open formula will have the feeling of being outside.

Fun and comfort

Look-wise, the sporty aspect is evident, but there’s also an underlying feeling of elegance: this is a boat ideal for cruises with the family, but also to the irredeemable womanizer. Jokes apart, we particularly appreciate the access to the bow area directly from the saloon, as it gives the double advantage of not having to use a narrow side deck and of allowing for a wider superstructure. The large glazing, on its hand, is a bit heavy on the look but grants the best brightness and ventilation that we mentioned earlier.

The main salon of Beneteau Gran Turismo 32 features the helm station with double seat to starboard, the galley to aft (it sports refrigerator, sink, double stove, storage space and even a small countertop). The dinette is on the port side: a U-shaped bench and a tabel which, we think, will be adjustable in order to create a solarium: the latter, although partially covered by the top, will take advantage of the wide opening above. A front-facing sofa by the bow passageway is the last addition to onboard comfort.

New in 2019: Beneteau Flyer 10 is fun for eleven people

To bow, a semi-walkaround solution allows you to move on both sides. The original setup of the solarium has three areas defined by the cushions: we see the unavoidable cupholders and we guess a suitable hi-fi system. Below deck GT 32 has two double berths and a real heads with separate shower. The light, plenty of, is granted by the long windows that run along the side of the hull.

As we mentioned at the beginning, the hull is the same of Beneteau Flyer 10: it boasts the Airstep technology to improve performance, and with a 600 hp powertrain the Gran Turismo 32 claims a top speed of 35 knots. There’s the chance to install high-end technology such as joystick, Zipwake system, bow thruster and two 12” Garmin screens. The presentation is scheduled for Cannes Yachting Festival.
