It is actually the result of a long four-handed project by Marino Alfani and Cédric Labouyrie: IconCraft 27 was an attraction during the latest Cannes and Monaco Shows.
Some of the main reasons for the success of IconCraft 27 have to be found in the original design by Marino Alfani, which features taut and bold lines. But another peculiarity of this 7m cruiser is the level of customization offered by the French shipyard. On the transom there’s a couple of Evinrude E-Tec G2 150.
Customized fun
The first contacts between Icon Craft and Alfani date back to 2015, when Cédric Labouyrie asked the designer to create a whole range for his brand. This is the fourth collaboration with the boatyard, soon to be followed by IconCraft 34 and IconCraft 38, which are already in the engineering stage. The waterlines, on the other hand, are designed by the French naval architect Guilhèm Andre-Heriaud.
Beside the look, a striking feature of the IconCraft 27 is the 10 sqm cockpit, with lowering side panels to make it wider. The dashboard is centrally located, and the small dinette has a folding table to make room for a sunbathing area.
On the transom, a good share of space is taken by the tender. Can seem useless on such a small boat, but in this case it’s a jet-ski: the use is not to reach the shore where the draft of the mothership doesn’t allow it. In this case it’s just a way of expanding the fun provided by the IconCraft 27 by having a second watercraft. We’ve seen this solution already on Wider 42, but in this case it’s on a much smaller scale.
But, as we mentioned, the project stands out for the chance of customization. This is evident by the chance to find an online configurator, through which visitors can choose different features such as colors, fittings and extras, creating an endless combination of possibilities.

Youth vocation and customization are also reflected in the choice of the engines, which can be single (250 or 350 hp) or twin (175 to 250 hp). With the maximum power available of 500 hp the top speed reaches 52 knots without T-top or 48 with T-top.
For the first unit, the choice went to a double Evinrude E-Tec G2, whose look perfectly matches the lines and colors of IconCraft 27. Among the peculiarities of the E-Tec G2s, the high torque and low levels of emissions and fuel consumption compared to 4-stroke competitors.
