The Superyacht Division of the Italian shipyard has just launched Scorpion: 46 meters long, built in steel, it’s unit number eight for the 46Steel range.
The first Sanlorenzo 46Steel has been introduced in 2010, and today we got to eight. The launch ceremony, officiated by the Orthodox Pope who christened the ship, has been attended by the Russian owner, his relatives and friends, the crew, and all the workers of the Italian shipyard who followed the construction of the unit. Scorpion is a steel built, displacing superyacht measuring 46 meters for five decks, capable of safely crossing the Ocean thanks to a range of 3500 nautical miles.
The elegant lines speak undoubtedly the Sanlorenzo language, a timeless classic which doesn’t indulge in the evanescent trends of fashion. Made according to the owner’s taste, Scorpion features spectacular opening windows by the master suite, a hydraulic ladder integrated in the swim platform, a large aft garage for a 7-meter tender and another full-length garage to bow, with space for water toys. The exterior lightning system allows the ship to turn into any desired color during the night, for a spectacular effect when at anchor.
The interiors follow the art deco style, with Architema and Fendi furniture, and custom seats built upon a specific design. Trim include bronzed brass details, mother-pearl inlays, and wood spacing from dark mahogany to “arctic Abice”, which is a shade of the Ivorian ceiba wood. In the stairway area, a crystal sculpture changes color on each deck with a palette range from deep blue to aqua green. All the mosaic works have been made in Moscow.
Sanlorenzo Superyacht Division is actually working on new steel units: the first two belong to the 460EXP family, a new explorer class boasting 460 tons of tonnage for a length of 42 meters. They will debut in September at the Monaco Yacht Show. Then, another two units of the 52Steel range, steel, displacing superyachts 52-meter long. This new flagship of the yard will be launched in 2016.
The total value of the yacths under construction exceeds 100 Euro millions.
