The French builder Beneteau expands their fishing boats offer with Barracuda 8: more centimeters mean more livability.
The new Beneteau Barracuda 8 confirms the trend from the French builder, offering more space onboard but keeping (if not strengthening) the vocation of a proper fishing boat. So it’s no surprise the choice to debut it during the Grand-Pavois boat show in La Rochelle, France, the main exhibition for anglers and sport fishermen.
Fisherman, with judgment
So it’s a fishing boat, but with a multipurpose approach, in order to match the needs of gamers and their families and friends who will enjoy some relax on the water. First seen on a Barracuda is the Air Step 2 hull, which makes of this model the most “marine” in the whole lineup. Propulsion can be on single or twin engine, up to 300HP, with a good range thanks to the fuel reserve of 285 liters or 400 as an option.
The cockpit is functional to gaming activity, and designed with all the experience and competence that Beneteau developed in many successful years. The features include a well for the catch that can slide around the cockpit, in order to free the space for a dinette seating eight. A second helm station can be mounted outside, in a raised position, in addition to the standard one in the salon. A sliding door gives access to the latter, which sports a dinette, the mentioned helm station with door on the side deck, and a cabin below with optional heads. The foredeck hosts a front-faced bench, turning into sun pad with an extension, and the anchor locker with winch.
