Here’s the new Salpa 38x: 9.95 meters (length of hull or LH), with all the features of a proper cruising open, in terms of both style and livability.
Looking at the renderings you can’t miss the large, unencumbered side windows, which connect to the windscreen making a virtually clear superstructure: they give the effect of an open boat still under a hard-top shelter.
Looking deeper into the features, the definition of cruiser is not ventured at all. There’s two galleys, one in the cockpit and one below, two cabins with en-suite, and much more.
The cockpit couch is a dinette or a solarium, while beneath the floor, as customary for Salpa boats, there’s a technical room with much space for storage. As an option, the swim platform is hydraulically lifted to launch and haul a dinghy.
Belowdecks the space seems even more: as mentioned, there’s two double cabins with their own bathroom, and a mess amidships with dinette and galley.
Enginewise, there’s choice between two (twin) D4s by Volvo Penta: one option delivers 2x260HP, the second 2×300, for a speed – in the latter case – of 36 knots top and 27.5 cruise.
Cannes Yachting Festival, September 8 to 13, will be the stage to finally visit the Salpa 38x and arrange a test with the boatyard.
