Nautica Bego, why not?

In just ten years Nautica Bego has become a polestar for all the boaters on Lake Maggiore. The secret of this success is simple: quality of service.

“Why not Bego” is almost a jingle now. And it’s not by accident: The popularity of Nautica Bego has spread from the shore of Lake Maggiore to a national level, as a point of reference for all aquabikers.

The (not so) secrets of Nautica Bego

“I have not experienced any downturn”, says frankly Maurizio Bego, heart and soul of Nautica Bego since the time, ten years ago, when he took over a small garage in Verbania, on Lake Maggiore, and relaunched it with enthusiasm.


There’s little to explain: he started this enterprise right before the largest crisis the boating sector has ever suffered, so he has been working against the tide. “There are no secrets – he states: “just work hard, always be helpful, grant a quick and professional service to every customer. It may sound obvious, but it isn’t. From June to September we are reachable 24-7, so if – say – a customer calls us for a breakdown while he’s back from a dinner on the Islands (the renowned Isole Borromee are close by), we are ready to intervene.


Our Yachting Store is a point of pride, run by our staff and open on Saturday and Sunday like our other services which include hauling, launching, service and assistance. Our customers realize the added value and that’s why our business is growing ever since. Other winning points, beside the competence of all the staff, is the popularity of the brands we represent, which are among the market leaders in their segments. As Nautica Bego we are dealers of SeaDoo jet-skis, Suzuki outboards in package with Ranieri International, Sting Ray boats from USA and Marinello from Italy, and Volvo Penta inboards. As Yachting Store we market Yamaha outboards and jet-skis, Garmin electronics, Helly Hansen and North Sails apparel. In addition, we have a couple of peculiar offers that make us pioneers in Italy: it’s the case of Fun Yak dinghies and the American pontoons available for rent”.


Needless to say, all the basic services are available: winter storage in a 7,000 sqm hangar, a technical staff of mechanics trained directly by the brand companies we represent, and a 35-ton crane.

Switzerland and Malpensa hub being pretty close, a large share of Nautica Bego customers are not Italian: Germans, Dutch, Swiss, and lately also Britons and Russians.

Yachting Store growing bigger

Next Spring will see the opening of the new Yachting Store headquarters, right beside our Nautica Bego offices to create a nautical hub in the heart of Verbania. The first renderings show how the actual one, already a benchmark on Lake Maggiore for the range of products, will be even more complete and articulated.

Simply calling it a rental service would be reductive. Open boats up to seven passengers with Suzuki engine, a rib with 100HP Yamaha outboard for ten, or the aforementioned pontoon for 12, moved by a 40 HP unit, and explicitely named “Party Boat” .



And it’s not oever yet, as Maurizio Bego’s creativity has invented the “Love Day” package: boat + helicopter + dinner for two. It’s been a success during last summer and promises to be a real “must” for 2016 season.
