The fifth Benetti Crystal 140 has debuted in USA at 2016 Miami Yacht&Brokerage Show.
Benetti Crystal 140 is part of theFull Displacement Class from the Italian shipyard, and comes from the expertise and creativity of Stefano Righini for the exterior and Ezequiel Farca for interior and décor.
Benetti Crystal 140, more than glass
Crystal is the epitome of light and transparency, and the interior of Benetti Crystal 140 fully explains this name: the distribution of space uses the whole space of the hull with a special attention to light flows, thanks to new glazing and windows. The areas are developed on four decks, with large convivial lounges protected by the needed privacy.
Among the innovative features of Benetti Crystal 140 we have to highlight the transom layout: a huge beach area sports a wet bar and galley, couches, day toilet, and shower, while the usual garage is moved abow, with side door, and houses tender, jet skis and other water toys.
The lower deck takes advantage from the rational engine bay, which leaves most of the space for four guest rooms (two double, two twin beds) and the crew quarters with unseen space for the on-board personnel.
The main deck is the heart of the ship, boasting a large living with center sofa, comfortable chairs and a bar. The salon is completed with a dining area for eight, furnished with a classical flair. The foyer in the middle is where the staircases connect the decks, while moving to bow there’s access to the owner’s apartment and its great window with sea view.
On the aft side of the upper deck Benetti Crystal 140 features two card tables surrounded by a semi/circular, opening glazing which offers a stunning view over the horizon. The sliding window can close the area and allow to control the room temperature. Moving forward, the pilot house and the captain’s cabin lead to the bow lounge outside.
The sun deck is all about relaxing and sun bathing, with a vintage touch in the funnel (actually it houses technical devices and stowage space). The hard top with sliding awning grants the needed shade when needed for the dining table underneath, while to aft it’s still possible to enjoy the tan.
The interior style can be fully customized upon owners’ request: in this case the choice went to Caribbean suggestions, with mahogany and gilded surfaces, but there’s no limits to taste and desires from the customer.
Benetti Crystal 140 is almost 42 meters long and nine meters wide. The 375 tons of displacement are powered by two Cat C32 Acert delivering 1081 Kw (around 1470 HP) each, and the fuel reserve of 64,550 liters (17,052 US gal) grants an oceanic range of 4,000 nautical miles. At half load, the top speed reaches 15 knots, while using 85% of the power Crystal 140 touches 14 knots. Side rolling is minimized by the wide hull and especially by the Naiad Stabilization Anchor system, whose fins can work even at anchor.
