The new Simrad autopilot range is characterized by greater accuracy, simplicity of operation and easy integration via NMEA 2000 network, as well as by the new Continuum Steering technology, which provides more responsiveness and a more reliable vessel handling. 
Simrad Autopilot: a new era
Thanks to the NAC-2 autopilot computers (for boats up to 35 feet) or NAC-3 (for boats over 35 feet) which can manage inboard and outboard engines, the new Simrad autopilot range is an important step forward for a brand that is always been at the top for the autopilot technology. The Simrad autopilot system consists of the AP44 Autopilot Controller: a 4.1-inch color display with a rotary knob and control buttons, plus a modern “glasshelm” look. The controller offers easy access to functions such as Automated Turn Patterns, No Drift Steering, Depth Contour Tracking, and other advanced driver features. A perfect replacement of the previous systems, now obsolete, AP44 can be connected to a chartplotter to give access to waypoints and navigation routes, in addition to allowing the total autopilot control from compatible multi-purpose screens. To complete Simrad Autopilot system, the color display IS42, which easily integrates with glasshelm systems and NSS evo2 and NSO evo2 multifunction screens. IS42 can be used as a display for the onboard electronics or as a standalone autopilot controller (if associated all’OP12) on smaller crafts. Instant visualization of wind, speed, depth, and engine data, autopilot status and other information is then possible, as well as adding the optional OP12 wireless remote controller, for total control of Simrad Autopilot system.
