Cranchi Endurance 33, when the family enjoys a convertible

Cranchi Endurance 33 can count on a double personality: sporty touch on one side, good livability on the other. Young families thank.

At a first glance Cranchi Endurance 33 looks definitely sporty, then you go belowdeck and enter a cabin that says “let’s go for a cruise”. Transform the dinette and there you have another two berths, so the family is rady to leave.

Cranchi Endurance 33: the deck

The look is sporty with a cool roll-bar which houses the cockpit awning. The cockpit of Cranchi Endurance 33 is versatile with a small height-adjustable table which can disappear into the flooring, while the aft solarium also covers the engine bay. A small cabinet in the cockpit hides a sink, unfortunately there’s no space for a grill. A single seat to starboard and a bench for two by the helm make up the pilothouse accommodation. The dashboard of Cranchi Endurance 33 features a linear design, with little space for the GPS monitor which can’t exceed inch-wise. The hatch to access the cabin is well made and practical, being a vertical aluminum shutter. The foredeck solarium is accessible via two safe passageways and features two single beds and a Plexiglas hatch in the middle.

Cranchi Endurance 33: interiors

A steep companionway leads to the saloon of Cranchi Endurance 33. The warm and welcoming atmosphere makes you want to leave immediately for a cruise. The bow dinette is large, so will be the bed it turns into. The bathroom is to port of the staircase, and features good space and a separate shower. I believe there’s not much more to ask on a 33-footer. On the opposite side the galley cabinet is well equipped and leads to the double berth that stretches full-beam under the cockpit. The ideal solution for a couple, who can go on a cruise enjoying the luxury of never moving the dinette table.

Cranchi Endurance 33: the test

After reaching the open sea out of Cranchi testing center in northern Adriatic, I push the throttle to the metal. The top speed is 37 knots, but I’d better to focus on cruise pace: 23 knots prove to be perfect for Cranchi Endurance 33, given that the water is not properly calm. The proving test is passed with full marks, even when waves are crossed with much transverse wind that lists the boat on one side. The windshield is very protective, even from the sprays that the bows lift and the wind pushes to us. Actually Cranchi Endurance 33 tends to list a lot changes of direction, but never too sharply and always conveying a pleasant feeling of safety. Planing is reached fast, with limited nose-up. Minimum speed is 14 knots, at 2000 rpm for a fuel consumption of 44 liters per hour. Even pushing the throttle flatout, the diesel need remains under the psychological threshold of 100lph. This Cranchi Endurance 33 really expresses all her double personality. Want to read about a much larger Cranchi boat? Here we test the 18-meter 60 ST.
