Jeanneau Leader 33 is the multi-purpose boat for cruising and sportfishing

She’s designed for versatility and is available for Summer 2017. Jeanneau Leader 33 can be the right boat for many.

Cruiser or daycruiser? Why not both. The philosophy behind Jeanneau Leader 33 wants to satisfy different needs in a practical and fun boat. The large sliding hard-top gives the feeling of an open boat but can be closed and protect from bad weather in a minute.

The lower deck

features two

totally independent

cabins, plus dinette

and galley.

  • A glance at the lower deck layout shows how Jeanneau Leader 33 designers have developed the fore cabin: rather than being an open space, as customary on this size of boats, it gains total privacy at night thanks to sliding panels.

  • The second cabin, under the cockpit, doesn’t need to transform the dinette to have the bunks, but it’s tinier so ideal for a couple of friends or the children of the owners.

  • The galley is complete and has a double in the cockpit grill, while the heads is large enough although it doesn’t sport a separate shower box.

  • The dinette in the cockpit can be transformed into a solarium, which is actually an extra one as the tanning reign is the foredeck. It’s is good though to have a more protected sun bed while in navigation.

Which engine for Jeanneau Leader 33

Usual doubt, gas or diesel? The official test by the yard was run with the two Volvo Penta D3 and Duoprop sterndrives, which come at an extra cost of around € 18,000. The gas alternative comes from twin MerCruisers, in two solutions: the recent 4.5 liter V6 with 250 HP, or the powerful 6.2 liters V8 with 300 HP. The V6 come with Bravo3 or Axius transmissions, the V8 only with the latter. As usual, choice depends on the usage (read hours of navigation), as the difference in the purchase price is limited.

Of course, the total 440 HP from the two Volvo Penta seem to be more than enough to ensure fast performance and excellent fuel economy. With a pair of FH3 propellers, 30 knots arereachable, but 25 knots seems the best performance for Jeanneau Leader 33 in terms of range, according to readings in liters per hour.
