Naumatec is the brand of Nuova Jolly Marine dedicated to building luxury tenders. And this new model has electric propulsion.
The company has been acquired by Nuova Jolly Marine in 2016, and one year after the takeover they are ready to launch a big news for Cannes Yachting Festival. It’s the first rib from the boatyard pushed by an inboard electric motor, developed by the Venetian company Huracan.
Naumatec e-tender 460: silent and green
Thanks to the electric propulsion, which weighs 40 Kg for 15 or 30 Kw of power output, the new Naumatec e-tender 460 is silent and produces virtually no emissions. In addition, there’s no issues in storing it inside a megayacht, it requires little maintenance and can access the protected areas. And, being built with vacuum infusion, a method which saves weight and increases mechanical strength, it also contributes to reduce the emissions of volatile organic compounds (VOC) during lamination.
Naumatec e-tender 460’s hull has been developed for this type of propulsion and ensures high performance, low energy absorption (hence greater autonomy) and high maneuverability even in tight spaces. For this reason, Huracan has designed, specifically for Naumatec, an innovative trimming drive that ensures a low steering radius and good handling even in reverse. The electric craft, designed by Federico Fiorentino, is built with a peculiar “D” shaped hypalon tubular that ensures floating and works as a fender.
Naumatec e-tender 460 is 4.60 m long and 2.00 m wide and can carry up to six people; it has a dry weight of 480 Kg if equipped with a 15 kW single-battery engine, or 620 Kg with a 30 kW motor and two batteries.
