Tankoa Saetta: the Italian shipyard ready to build a 53-meter planing yacht

The name of the project is S533,  but it’s the name Tankoa Saetta (“bolt” in Italian) which gives the idea: with three waterjets it will be capable of reaching 28 knots.

With a length of 53 meters and a beam of 9,20, project S533 is an addition to the planing models from the Genoa shipyard: one year ago they introduced Tankoa 58 Open.

The salient feature is undoubtedly the extensive use of glazed surfaces, according to the so-called wide body principle, which give a new perception of the side lines, making the gunwale virtually disappear and blurring  the division between lower and main deck.

Once again, Paskowski

Designed by Francesco Paszkowski, already in charge of 69m Suerte, Tankoa Saetta S533 will offer her guests the chance to live the sea at any moment, as the horizon will be visible from almost every corner of the yacht.

The outdoor spaces start with the immense flybridge, continuing with the cockpit above the transom structure which contains a sun bed for five people and a large table with L-shaped sofa. The bow on the other hand hosts “only” two recessed dinettes and a sunpad, while the massive prow and the absence of side rails emphasize the boldness of the look.

Still no information about the interiors, while the powertrain counts on three MTU 16V 2000 M94L, for a total of 7800 HP, coupled to hydrojet propulsion. In this way, the 300 tons of the Saetta can be pushed to 28 knots, with a cruising speed of 24 and a range of 600 miles. However, by reducing the pace down to 17 knots, the consumption is halved bringing the theoretical distance to 1200 miles.
