As it’s customary for them, Frauscher christens the boat shows season with a new model: it’s the 747 Mirage, ready to make her debut in Cannes and Genoa.
After an exclusive preview on Lake Garda by Cantiere Nautico Feltrinelli (importer of Frauscher boats for Italy), the new cruiser from the Austrian shipyard is now ready for launch on the international markets.
The team of designers is the same that released the 2014 858 Fantom. So the technical part is by Harry Misbauer, while the styling comes from the Austrian design studio Kiska. The latter gave the 747 Mirage a unique look, which combines the unmistakable “gentlemen racer” Frauscher touch with suggestions coming from the most exclusive sport cars.
Aboard the new 747 Mirage styling goes along with functionality, a match that’s not always granted. The deck features a compact yet rational layout, with a large sunbed astern. On one side, the passageway leads into the cockpit without stepping on the cushions, while the bed itself can become even larger by tilting the backseat of the cockpit bench. On the port side, another bench turns into a chaise longue by just sliding to the front the co-pilot backseat.
The foredeck looks essential, but a storage area hides the cushions that can be put in place for another sun pad. The same cushions, when set belowdeck, work as mattress for an emergency double bunk. The length is ok, but it lacks of headroom above and it’s frankly rather tricky to slide in. Let’s call it a comfy shelter instead.
Of course each owner can pick the exterior and interior color among a large offer, as he can opt for different engines, gas or diesel. The power range spans from 220 to 430 HP, while the 250 liter fuel tank is a relief for mid- and long-range cruises.
The charme of this boat goes side by side with her price. But you don’t have to simply connect it with the sheer size. In the words of Mauro Feltrinelli, Italian importer of Frauscher boats for Italy, states that “Frauscher invests huge money in R&D and in human resources. Sure, the products are not low priced. But the value, in terms of quality and innovation, largely exceeds the price asked. I can tell you that with the 747 Mirage once again Frauscher has beaten their strongest competitor: themselves”.
