The launch ceremony of Benetti Blake took place in Viareggio a few weeks ago, in front of 300 guests. She’s a 50-meter full custom yacht designed for long range cruising.
This is the eleventh launch on a slide (rather spectacular when compared to a standard one…) since 1999, when the Tuscan shipyard had inaugurated the new headquarters in Viareggio, via Coppino. Benetti Blake, the largest Benetti yacht featuring fiberglass hull and aluminum superstructure, raised her first wave with a dive from the 8%-steep slide. The shipyard is the only one in Italy equipped for this particular way of launching superyachts, between 40 and 50 meters. The maximum draft is 2.6 meters, while the heaviest allowed weight is 350 tons.
Like for the launch of the 45M “Domani”, in October 2016, Benetti invited more than 300 guests to attend the ceremony: including local authorities, employees and friends who enjoyed the unusual show together with a large crowd of curious people who watched it from the docks of Darsena Italia.
M / Y “Blake” stands out for her interior layout, designed in collaboration with the London-based firm Bannenberg & Rowell Design. The space on board, along with the range capabilities (4,000 nautical miles at 11 knots) and the low level of NVH make her the ideal yacht for long cruises.
The guest area on the lower deck develops over an area of 310 square meters, and boasts four cabins. In addition, the upper deck lounge can be transformed into another VIP cabin. A large convivial area is located on the sun deck, while the main deck hosts the owner’s apartment in the bow section.

The aft garage can house a 6.3-meter tender (21 feet), while two jet-skis and a rescue boat find their place to bow. The aft section of the lower deck, as is customary today, forms a proper beach club thanks to the huge tilting section which becomes a terrace at sea level.
