Bold yet elegant, the new Azimut Grande 32 meters comes from the collaboration between the shipyard, Stefano Righini and Achille Salvagni. The interior spaces are well concealed by the sporty exterior lines.
After the anticipations we gave you in 2018, here’s again Azimut Grande 32 meters. The Italian superyacht enters the Grande line-up beside the (new as well) 25, 27, 30 and 35.
Azimut Grande 32 m: the new superyacht wants to break up with the past
This Raised Pilot House yacht is a joint work of Stefano Righini for the exteriors, Achille Salvagnifor the interiors, Pierluigi Ausonio for the hull, and – of course – Azimut design team. She interprets what today more and more owners are looking for: a sporty look from outside, and an extremely comfortable ambiance inside.
The unmistakable square and vertical bow of Azimut yachts is there. Not only it gives more space on the deck, but it also increases the volume inside.
The glazing of the master cabin, between the superstructure and the hull, are another feature element of all the “Grande” by Azimut. The family feeling is assured.
She does not save on outdoor spaces, sporting a 70 sqm flybridge and an 18 sqm beach club: the latter can be equipped with light awnings mounted on carbon poles to become a lounge on the water. The infinite outdoor area on the foredeck is huge and extremely articulate.
The interiors of Azimut Grande 32 are soft and sinuous. Salvagni has conceived fluid surfaces that are ‘detached’ from the walls, in order to create distinct volumes without any sharp interruption. The tones are warm, neutral.
The bow area, which uses the full beam of the hull, is dedicated to the owner. One of its strong points is undoubtedly the natural light that floods through the two full-height windows; part of these can be opened with gull wings.
The owner’s bathroom is forward of the cabin and, thanks to the squared bow of the boat, still manages to exploit the widest beam of the hull.
Azimut Grande 32 Metri is articulated onto three decks. The large flying bridge can be sheltered by a t-top with an opening section.
The interior layout is rather classic for this type of yacht: lounge, galley and owner’s area on the main deck, while the lower deck thouses the guest cabins in the middle and the crew area to bow. In the back, the beach club and the side garage for a tender up to 5 meters and a 3-meter jet-ski. On the raised half deck between main and fly bridges is the helm station.
The superstructure of Azimut Grande 32 is made of carbon fiber and has, once again, a sporty look. Azimut has been one of the first shipyards in the world to use carbon fiber for the construction of their yachts. It was 2006.
All the carbon parts of Azimut Grande 32 meters mean a weight saving of 30 to 40%. This, along with the D2P (Displacement to Planing) hull designed by Pierluigi Ausonio, with bow wavepiercer and double edge, allows to attain remarkable levels of efficiency.
According to the data collected by Azimut, a comparison between this kind of hull with those of the Azimut of the 2000s, there are improvements in performance with peaks over 30%.
Another interesting feature beside the hull design is the pursue of lightness all around the yacht, with a positive effect on navigation range: 1000 nautical miles at 12 knots. Or from Monaco to Ibiza, and back.
