Red Horizon is the integration protocol developed by FPT Industrial with ZF and Navico Simrad. It includes technologies that link engines and their control system.
FPT Industrial, in cooperation with ZF and Navico Simrad, has combined the technologies of all partners to create Red Horizon. The aim is ensuring navigation control, maximum driving comfort, handling and safety in every situation.
FPT Red Horizon, the intelligent hub
Red Horizon can be coupled to any FPT Industrial engine from the Cursor and NEF families. The first showcase is matched to two N67 570 EVO engines that combine high performance and reliability with a compact design, ideal for sport boats. Thanks to the creativity of CNH Industrial Design Center, the Red Horizon project is launched in a unique environment inspired by the automotive world.
With over 50 years of experience in the design and production of control systems for the maritime sector, ZF equips Red Horizon with electronic controls and maneuvering systems. The electronic Premium Control features an ergonomic lever with touchpad, and guarantees full navigation control and precise maneuverability in restricted areas for safe docking. It also integrates the latest Controller Area Network (CAN bus) communication technology with a multi-function control for up to six control stations. Thanks to the simultaneous control of engines and transmissions, the joystick provides safe management of the boat control at low speed, with easy maneuvering in tight spaces.
For FPT Industrial Red Horizon Navico offers a 7″ display for engine monitoring and a large 16″ Full HD multifunction display (MFD). The latter offers visibility and control from the helm and a chartplotter navigation system with integrated GPS receiver, sonar support, radar, autopilot and other options. It also provides wireless display mirroring on smartphones and tablets, allowing control of the engine and boat from anywhere on board.
Navico screens have easy and intuitive touch controls and are equipped with a technology that guarantees a clear view in any lighting condition and very wide viewing angles. The compact 7″ display series (there’s also 9″ and 12” versions) are specifically dedicated to displaying a wide range of engine data, monitoring alarms and to offering the chance of extending options to several navigation functions, such as chartplotter, radar, depth sounder, autopilot and more.
