The Ferretti 550 is the new small (everything is relative…) model from the Italian shipyard. Small according to Ferretti standards, as she’s the new entry level for a range that goes up to 29 meters. Still, it’s a 17 meter boat with three cabins and luxurious trim.
As usual, the design of this new 550 comes from the R&D department of Ferretti Group (Advanced Yacht Technology) for the engineering, along with Studio Zuccon International Project for the styling.
The result is a boat that matches the traditional aesthetics of Ferretti Yachts with a renovated look that enhanced the sleek horizontal lines. The three large windows on the sides contribute to the clean visual impact, avoiding the effect of a “perforated hull” that can happen in presence of many circular portholes.
Comfortwise, outside there’s many spaces for relaxing in privacy, starting with the large living on the foredeck which adds a dinette to the typical solarium. Another dinette is in the cockpit, under the flybridge overhang. On the fly deck, there’s room for another dining area and a sun bed. The swim platform can be equipped with the lifting system, making it perfect for launching the tender and enjoying the water from the closest possible point.
In full Ferretti style, the salon features a galley-aft layout and an original living to the fore with a C shaped dinette on one side and two seats in front. Rather peculiar seats, as it’s difficult to tell if it’s large armchairs or compact couches.
Belowdecks there’s the choice among three setups. The more traditional ones boast three cabins, with the difference being in the choice between two or three heads. The third option is the so called “Tai He Ban by Ferretti” special edition, aimed in particular to the Asia-Pacific boaters: in this case some cabins have been replaced by large spaces dedicated to convivial moments or business meetings. The galley is moved below, leaving more relaxing space on the main deck.
The full beam suite is completed by a tea for two, walk-in closet and vanity corner/desk with a pouf. The en-suite is slightly raised from the cabin floor level and features a second, large window to brighten the interior and the shower box (separated by a glass cabinet).
