The debut of Arcadia 85 US Edition, eight unit from the innovative Italian shipyard, marked a great success for her “eco-friendly” attitude
Everything on Arcadia 85 US Edition is the result of the evolution in construction processes achieved by the yard: the linear design of the superstructure and the vertical bow allow the best use of the available space, indoor and outdoor, as shown by the huge living area. And the design solutions mark the unique character of Arcadia Yachts, and in particular of the Arcadia 85 US Edition, like the solar panels integrated in the lines of a semi-displacement yacht.
The passion of the boatyard for solar technology and eco-mobility find a realization in this 26 mt long, 7 meters wide yacht (85 x 23 ft), featuring 40 square meters of photovoltaic panels, each made of hundreds of high efficiency solar cells, and capable of delivering a total of 5 Kw of power. That’s where Arcadia yachts find the supply for auxiliaries: shower, WC, refrigerator, lighting.
The look of Arcadia 85 US Edition is simple and sober, with a perfect blend between inside and outside areas. The deck house is made almost entirely of a double-layer reflecting glass, offering a great brightness. But the ceiling and windows shades grant the desired privacy while in harbor or at anchor. The massive aft-deck lounge (8,50 mt long, almost 28 ft) features a well-protected cockpit – ideal for dining – and a large solarium to the back.
Arcadia 85 US Edition is a semi-displacement yacht whose particular hull is named NPL after the British National Physical Laboratory where several tests have been run to determine the best length/beam ratio in terms of hydrodynamic efficiency. The hull is built in gelcoat and vynilester-reinforced fiberglass for the three external layers; sides are in PVC and fiberglass. This peculiar structure allows each Arcadia yacht to be light and sturdy (the displacement is 67 tons) when compared to the size, so to get good performance and low fuel consumption. The 85 is powered by two 730 HP MAN diesels, for a top speed of 18,5 and a cruise of 16,5. At 12 knots the boat is in displacement and has a range of 850 nautical miles.
Arcadia 85 US Edition boasts four cabins on the lower deck: the master is amidships, the VIP (with double bed and dressing room) is located to the fore, and there’s room for another two double rooms. Abow there’s also the crew area for four people. To complete the layout, a tender for a 4 mt (13 ft) tender and a tandem jet-ski.
The interiors are enriched by modern furniture by the most important and famous brands of “Made in Italy” design, such as Poltrona Frau, Cassina and Schiffini. Most of the pieces are modular, giving the chance to vary the layout: for instance, on this 85 US Edition the galley opens straight on the dining area.
