Frauscher 747 Mirage Air, open with no compromises

At the Austrian shipyard it’s time to launch a new version of the successful 747 Mirage, the elegant decked cruiser introduced in 2014. It’s the new Frauscher 747 Mirage Air, destined  to be one of the most gracious center- console boats on the market.

After the success of 686 Lido and 1017 Lido, Frauscher expands their offer with a third open boat with center pilothouse. Conceived by R&D manager of the Company Thomas Gerzer, Frauscher 747 Mirage Air boasts once again a hull designed by Harry Miesbauer.

While some elements come from the “standard” 747 Mirage, many others are new on this Air: for instance, passengers can walk from the swim platform to the cockpit without stepping on the aft cushions. The helm station features a custom dashboard and two seats for pilot and co-pilot; a tilting couch abaft can serve for seating or to enlarge the sun bed. The open bow is equipped with two cushions on the sides, while an optional table can create a dinette or a solarium. The bimini shade is conveniently hidden and easy to mount, so in a few seconds it can protect from hot sun or bad weather.

Despite the open configuration, there’s still plenty of storage room, under the access passageway, between and under the front and back seats, underneath the aft bench (an optional refrigerator fits in) and in the large lockers to bow and on the front sides.

The peculiar low-bow design ensures a good visibility at any speed. As for the engine, the choice is among Mercruisers and Volvos, diesel or gas, in different powersteps, spreading from 220 to 430 HP. In this last case, the performance even exceeds the aggressive look, with a top speed of 56 knots.
These are the main specifications: Length overall 7.47 mt (24 ft 6 in); beam 2.50 mt (8 ft 2 in); displacement 1900 Kg; draft 0.50-0.85 mt (1 ft 8 in – 2 ft 9 in); fuel tank 240 lt (63 US gal); passengers 8; CE certification C.
