Arcadia Yachts, the innovative and “eco-friendly” shipyard from Italy, unveils the first renderings of Arcadia Sherpa, soon to be introduced at Cannes Yachting Festival. The actual boat will be launched in January at Boot Düsseldorf
The range of GRP built Arcadia Yachts boats grows with the introduction of Arcadia Sherpa. Along with Arcadia 100 (in construction), the GRP lineup is completed by Arcadia 85 and Arcadia 115. Sherpa introduces a new concept of flying bridge: it can turn into a closed deck completely protected by side windows, which can slide up to make the boat a convertible. The whole upper deck, then, which also features air conditioning, becomes flexible and can be used in any weather conditions, were it cold and rainy or extremely hot.
A versatile yacht
The Arcadia Sherpa is offered in two different superstructure options: Open deck and Salon deck. While the former is for daytime cruising, the latter is made for long range navigation. In addition, customers can opt for different layouts featuring one, two or three cabins.
Another plus comes from the large storage room (over 140 square meters) below the main level. This “flush deck” solution allows to leave the useful space for living solutions while all the gear stays underneath.
The new Arcadia Sherpa sports a semi-displacing hull, named NPL after the National Physical Laboratory of England where tests have been run in order to reckon the best length-to-beam ratio in terms of hydrodynamic efficiency. This, and the lightweight superstructure, grant good performance with little power installed. With Volvo Penta IPS 600 powertrain, Sherpa can reach 25 knots and cruise at 20 burning around 97 lph of fuel, while at the displacement pace of 12 knots the consumption goes down to around 43 lph.
