The new Four Winns HD 240 stands out for the quality and versatility of the layout, available in four different versions. Under the supervision of Beneteau Group.
The Americans are back? It definitely seems like that in boating, when a giant like Beneteau decides to take over distribution for Europe. Among the models by the USA manufacturer we appreciate this Four Winns HD 240, Yankee at its best, available in four different trims (and many variants) with some common features, like the bowrider layout and a high level of finish.
Four Winns HD 240: stars and stripes to the bone
Four Winns HD 240 is the epitome of “made in USA”, yet with an eye for European taste. Starting with the quality of the finishing, and with the chances to set up the deck. It is one of the most interesting day cruisers available today.
Engine-wise, the choice is between sterndrive or outboard, a big choice indeed as the latter allows additional storage possibilities by using the engine compartment, while the former uses part of the large aft deck, still leaving a comfy side access to the cockpit and the back-facing sofa. Probably boaters used to have an aft solarium will complain, because here the choice went for a more complex solution, with access to starboard for the central cockpit. This consists of a series of sofas around the perimeter for comfortable seating in different conformations, then a chaise longue, a hi-fi good for audiophiles and cup holders everywhere.
Two chairs for pilot and co-pilot leave the typical bowrider mid-passage to the fore, fitted with a cozy U-shaped sofa with a center element which turns it into a large solarium. Worth a mention is the small but accessible potty cabin right in front of the port seat, while to the extreme bow the anchor locker is also an excellent step for bow access, or a diving board, upon one’s taste.
All this is complemented with a performance hull (20° deadrise) and, as mentioned before, a superior level of finishes, enriched by lively but tasty color combinations. As for the four versions, you can go for a roll-bar (these models carry the RS initials) for the sportier and more colorful ones, while the basis version is more classic.
