May 5th to 7th: here’s the dates for 2017 of NavigaMi, the boating festival held along the renovated canals of Milan. A beatiful location and a passionate city will host the show aimed to all boating fans.
Toady you can be a proper boater even on a 5-meter craft, which features a lot of amenities at the price of a car. And even with a 40 HP outboard engine, the top speed can reach 40 knots like a much larger sport cruiser.
If you’re still in a swing mood about visiting NavigaMi, we remind you that entrance is free and that you will discover everything about boating by simply walking along the Nuova Darsena docks, like you would do on any festive day. The location is like those cozy squares you can find in a holiday village: a meeting point for an aperitivo or a gelato, for doing some shopping, or simply stroll around.
Of course NavigaMi is not a watch-only exhibition: there’s plenty of initiatives to attend, like cruising the Navigli (Milan canals), entertain children with NavigaMi Kids, or take some lessons to become expert boaters.
On display you will find some 52 boats, then charter and holiday agencies, apparel booths, accessories and much more.
Here’s some more details:
Boats on display range from 4 to 10.5 meters. The queen of the show is Cranchi Z35, an open cruiser with a cabin which measures 11.70 meters overall (LH under 10 meters). From the same boatyard, another two units will be under the spotlights: Endurance 33 and Endurance 30.
If you’re looking for something with a special flair, Nautica Bertelli will exhibit two models from the successful Invictus brand: 240 FX and 280 CX .
For passionate anglers, Boston Whaler is one of the most renown brands, and their “unsinkable legends” will be there.
Many more boat builders will attend 2017 NavigaMi, including Lomac, Ranieri International, Nuova Jolly, Zar Formenti, Marlin Boat and more.
As for the engines, some of the largest outboard manufacturers will be there, also with package solutions in bundle with boat or rib. Mercury, Selva, Suzuki, Yamaha and Tohatsu will represent the traditional engines, with Torqeedo exhibiting their electric outboards.
Charter experts such as Albatross Yachting and M3 Servizi Nautici will propose you a whole range of boating holidays, with chances of renting the boat and exploring uncommon locations.
Children 6 to 15 have their own range of events and activities, under the supervision of NavigaMI Kids. The aim is to make them touch and experience the several activities that can be practiced in the water. NavigaMI Kids is backed by many Italian federations – sailing, rafting, canoeing, kayaking – and other associations, so kids and young adults will always find something interesting to do and learn.
Lega Navale Italiana (Milan and Meina branches) and Centro Velico Caprera will provide a sailing simulator, so kids can understand the basics of sailing and learn useful skills like tying knots and understanding weather forecasts.
Rawing simulators are managed by Associazione Canottaggio di Milano, so to try how healthy it is to go on a kayak or canoe, while Federazione Italiana Rafting will have ribs and canoes in the water and instructors will offer kids the chance to sail the canals.
So save the date. The 8th edition of NavigaMi is scheduled for May 5th to 7th, at Darsena di Milano, with the following opening times: Friday 12-23, Saturday 10-23, Sunday 10-19. Entrance is free for everybody.
