The Eighties are long gone, and it’s a good thing as flybridge boats have evolved so much in thirty years. Here’s the best five among the dozens that we have tested lately.
After our selection, we realized that all the boats in this list are in the 50-65 feet range. And it’s no surprise, as this is the size span with the largest offer. To European boaters this is the perfect choice: roomy boats, with space for guests, without being too bulky or high-maintenance. And, easy to manage without any crew.
So here they are. Click on the links to read our full tests, with photos and figures.
Absolute 50 Fly, it’s all in the name
A boat named Absolute already carries in her name the spirit she faces competition with. In a crowded segment Absolute 50 Fly has a lot to say, especially in terms of finishing and livability. But also the rest is second to none.
Cranchi E52 F Evoluzione: see the evolution
This is the latest model of the five, having entered the market in 2017. Cranchi E52 F is an evolution of one of the most popular flybridge yachts built in Italy. Not just a restyling though, but a thorough revisiting of the previous model, making her a proper new boat.
Azimut 50 Fly, it’s not just two feet
How can you improve on the previous 48 without just changing a couple of details and dubbing her a higher number? Inspiration came from Azimut 80, which was introduced a bit earlier and dictated the guidelines for a whole rethinking of the yard’s motoryachts’ range. And after our full test, Azimut 50 has gained all the rights to be part of our selection.
Monte Carlo MC6, the flagship looks to her cousins
Monte Carlo MC6 is the top of the range in the Monte Carlo brand by Beneteau. The look is surely outstanding, and the solutions are smart and functional from one of the largest boatbuilders in the world. And, she winks to her cousins in the Monte Carlo Yacht range, which carry the same look in larger sizes and even more luxurious outfit.
Sea Ray L650 Fly, conquering Europe
The American brand Sea Ray has launched an aggressive strategy in order to properly enter the European market. First point, of course, is the product. This big flybridge has the DNA of a Yankee boat, with the refined taste of a Mediterranean yard.
