Aston Martin – Triton Project Neptune. From the road to the water. Or better, below water

The stage has been the Monaco Yacht Show, of course. The temple of wealth has seen a partnership between Aston Martin and Triton to bring the ultimate luxury in one of the most exclusive “toys” a man can have: a personal submarine.

Codenamed Project Neptune, the venture enables Aston Martin to enhance their brand experience bringing it into new aspects of the luxury world, keeping the performance, beauty and elegance customers expect from the British marque.

ASTON MARTIN – TRITON PROJECT NEPTUNE: SUBMERSIBLE LUXURY

With the UHNWI (Ultra High Net Worthy Individuals) globally increasing, the frontiers of luxury move beyond megayachts and hypercars. Even a personal aircraft is not that exclusive anymore. So, in the last years attention has gone to submarines, as a way to explore unseen territories where only the “happiest few” can go. Aston Martin and Triton with Project Neptune promise to allow that in the most luxurious ambience you can have underwater.
Founded in Florida, Triton has a strong expertise in designing and building submersibles for researchers, explorers and superyacht owners. Project Neptune marries Triton’s diving and operational expertise with Aston Martin’s design, materials, and craftsmanship. Overseen by Aston Martin Consulting, the partnership has shaped a concept that will lead to an exclusive, strictly-limited edition vehicle. Project Neptune takes Triton’s Low Profile (LP) three-person platform as a basis upon which to explore a new iteration of Aston Martin’s “progressive design” language.
Marek Reichman, who is Aston Martin Executive Vice President and Chief Creative Officer, says: “Project Neptune is defined by its sleek, elegant exterior. We have used forms and proportions that express the same devotion to design, engineering and beauty that shape our cars, such as the Aston Martin Valkyrie hypercar project”.
Patrick Lahey, President of Triton Submarines LLC stated: “We have always admired Aston Martin. The marque represents a deeply held passion for technology, engineering and timeless, elegant design. From our first interaction, it was apparent that Triton and Aston Martin were natural partners and our complimentary values will be realised in this truly exciting project.”
And if you think you’ve heard the name Aston Martin before when talking of water, you are right.
