She’s the flagship to the fishing family in the Beneteau group, and will be the star of the 2018 Barracuda Tour next spring. The Beneteau Barracuda 9 will be launched officially at the Nantes European Saltwater Fishing Show especially for the anglers.
The Barracuda Tour, organized by Beneteau since 2011, is a no-kill fishing competition that brings together thousands of fishers from all over the world. For the boatyard, the event is also a good way to get important feedback from anglers and it gives designers an opportunity to adapt the Barracuda line to meet their needs. The new Beneteau Barracuda 9 quite simply reflects the best of this experience.
How many rods can you fit?
The panelled freeboards, around an open and modular cockpit, improve comfort on fishing trips, while a starboard gate makes getting aboard easier. At the back of the pilothouse, a large full-beam glass door provides light and ventilation and seamlessly opens up the living spaces on board. Faithful to the spirit of the Barracuda Tour, Beneteau is offering a “fishing pack” which includes 6 additional rods, a side net roller, a live bait well with circulating water, a deck wash pump and a cutting board on the transom.
The interior salon sports facing seats positioned lengthways, making movement easier, while the galley is now equipped with a large refrigerator. The helm station features a twin bench seat and a large control panel that can house two 9” and 12” displays. The door closing off the cabins separates the pilothouse from the other spaces. The lower deck has a large cabin and a separate shower room, as well as a second cabin that can be used either as stowage space or for an extra double berth.
Equipped with the latest Airstep hull, Beneteau Barracuda 9 should be as good in rough sea as its siblings with the same technology. The engines can reach a total power of 500 HP, while the fuel tanks are available in two sizes: 400 or 600 litres.
Waiting to see it in some of the upcoming boat shows, a good chance to test the new Barracuda 9 is to attend the Barracuda Tour, from 28 to 29 May in Arzon/Port du Crouesty.
