It's a prestigious prize for the American outboards: thanks to their technology and design, Evinrude E-TEC G2 have received the Red Dot Award in the category product design, for their 150 and 200 hp versions.
What really counts is appreciation by the public, not by the critics. Still, a prize like the Red Dot Award is a coveted one. So, if on one hand the Evinrude E-TEC G2 outboards have already proven their success in terms of sales, now they win the 2018 Red Dot Award for product design. In particular, the trophy has been bestowed to the 150 hp and 200 hp versions of the motor.
The Red Dot design awards debuted in 1955 to acknowledge cutting-edge products, evolving industries and customer experience with emerging tendencies. The jury's statement on their choice of the Evinrude E-TEC G2 notes the “distinctive appearance enabling personalization which characterizes this outboard motor platform. It also convinces with a combination of powerful motor and environmentally friendly combustion technology”.
