The Italian boat and yacht builder Sundeck Yachts is committed to USA: among a range that spaces between 12 and 38 meters, Sundeck 580 will be at FLIBS in the water.
Sundeck Yachts is making a move on the American market, in the right time and with the right product. If on one hand the US economy is going full steam, in the nautical business as well, on the other hand the Italian shipyard has a good lineup of products, spacing from a 430 Open to a 38m superyacht. The core is in the Trawler range, four models, and right a Sundeck 580 Trawler is the one that the manufacturer decided to take to the 2019 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show.
A good all-rounder
Sundeck 580 is designed to be enjoyed with family or friends (but…which boat isn’t?). Her layout is open and airy, featuring large glazing and aft doors as well as numerous windows in each stateroom below. The flybridge is large for a yacht this size, as is the foredeck sun bed and forward seating.
Hullwise, Sundeck 580 sports an axe bow, sharp entry and wide chines that start at the peak. These features make her a seaworthy yacht, that promises to slice the waves as well as getting on plane, with speeds up to 25 knots and range of 1,200 nm at 9.5 knots. These characteristics are the reason why Sundeck yachts are deemed “fast trawlers”. A Seakeeper gyro stabilization unit is standard on Sundeck 580, which once
again is perfect for the American market.
Sundeck Yachts 550: ideal for living the sea
Each fiberglass mold is designed in-house at Sundeck Yachts facilities, and carved on a 5-axis CNC machine for precision sizing. Assembled by a dedicated team of craftsmen, the solid fiberglass hulls and most of the components are sourced in-house for a high standard of quality control.
The three yards in Italy (Lavagna, Fano and Ravenna) can have ten hulls simultaneously under construction. Since the foundation in 2015, Sundeck Yachts has sold 18 yachts, with further orders in the book and several models under construction.
