Canados Gladiator 90 marks the debut of the second model under the new management. It’s the first of the Gladiator range, and the launch is due for 2017.
The new Canados Gladiator 90 will replace the previous Canados 90 Open, and will be available in three versions with different powertrains, to become one of the most versatile yachts on the market.
Canados Gladiator 90, two or three engines
The powertrain configurations for the new Canados Gladiator 90 are three. Two MAN V12 delivering 1900 HP each for a top speed of 33 knots (cruise 27). Or, two MTU, 2×2.600 HP with Arneson Drive for a speed in excess of 48 knots and a cruise of 42. Finally, 3xMAN V12 1.900 HP with Top System surface drives for a stunning performance of 55 knots top speed and 46 knots cruise speed.
The three versions will then feature three or four cabins, with crew cabins and mess, located between the engine room and the guests’ deck.
While the versions with two engines will have typical Canados interiors, with traditional yet custom furnishing, the three-engined one will sport ultra-light materials and reinforced structures. In any case, the hull is vacuum-infused for the best strength-to-weight ratio. For the top version, the whole superstructure will be built in Kevlar/Aramat with carbon fiber reinforcements.
Canados Gladiator 90 has been designed keeping in mind that a 28-meter yacht, capable of 50 knots and more, has to be comfortable and safe at the same time. It aims to be the fastest model among the open yachts of such size. The hull design, derived from the previous Canados 90 Open, can bear the highest speeds and keep them even in bad sea conditions.
The cockpit has been enlarged thanks to a new sun bed overhanging on the swim platform. Canados Graldiator 90 will feature a salon/dining area for 8-9 guests, protected by an awning integrated in the superstructure, while the helm station will be separated by a glass panel. The foredeck sports a second salon/dining space, before the windshield, and the typical solarium.
The large side windows offer the best view on the surrounding landscape, and the sliding hard top will let the breeze in. Two large lockers on both sides of the cockpit can house the fenders of water toys, while the garage is big enough for a 3.85 meter tender and a jet-ski.
