After nine full days, Boot Dusseldorf has closed the curtain with impressive figures, considering it’s held in winter season and in northern Germany. Numbers say 240.200 visitors from 60 Countries, across 1.741 booths in 17 pavilions (source: official website www.boot.de).
Impressive figures indeed, but also relieving: especially because they demonstrate how the attractive potential of the show exceeds that of the location. Düsseldorf may not be the most beautiful landscape, and sure it doesn’t feature a waterfront (Rhine doesn’t count…), but it lays in the middle between northern and southern Europe, within 90 minutes flying from most of European Countries, and it’s served by a large and busy hub.
To the Benefit of Boot Dusseldorf,-2015 is also the fact that it’s truly comprehensive: everything related to water finds place in some of the pavilions. We’re talking of water sports, diving, scuba fishing, gaming, charter and nautical tourism, marine art, and of course the huge space dedicated to boats and accessories.
Right in Düsseldorf UCINA (Italian boat constructors association) has disclosed the project for the 55th edition of the Genoa Boat Show, October 2015, which includes new trade sectors such as diving and water sports. As the organizer Company of Genoa Boat Show is a subsidiary of UCINA and has no boundaries with Fiera di Genova, it’s our opinion that moving the show to another location could be smart. Even if that location is not attractive on a landscape point of view. We’re thinking of Milano Trade Show area, which is close to two airports and served by trains and subways. With an eye on Italy, we’ll keep on following the news from UCINA.
Back to Düsseldorf Boot, it’s been the occasion for debuting many new boats: below it’s a good selection, but stay tuned on Boatmag International for all the details and tests in the following weeks.
