Azimut S7: carbon-fiber, game-changer

Azimut S7, whose launch is planned for 2017 Cannes Yachting Festival, rethinks the sport motoryacht by extensively using carbon fiber construction.
She will be offered in two versions: Coupé and Sportfly. The interior design will be completely innovative for both, with unprecedented spaces belowdecks also thanks to the IPS transmissions with triple Volvo Penta engines. The new Azimut S7 will measure 21 meters, finding her spot in the range right between 55S and 77S.

Newfound boldness for Azimut S7

The exterior by Stefano Righini sports the stylistic features of the range, here accompanied by a peculiar, diamond-shaped design of the side windows: a solution that gives the boat character and will impress for the play of reflected light. The use of carbon fiber, for the superstructure and the submersible bathing platform, has allowed to increase the volumes without paying on the weight side. In addition, the triple IPS propulsion not just improves performance and lowers fuel consumption, but also allows a further benefit in terms of deck space. The result is a 13-meter long livable area and a garage which can house both a 3.25 tender and a jet-ski.

The interiors are the result of the work of Francesco Guida, at his first cooperation with the shipyard. Guida has revolutionized the typical solutions adopted on this type of boat. Beside three spacious guest cabins, the heart of the Azimut S7 is a 19-square-meter master suite divided into four distinct zones, separated with bulwarks, mirrors and opal materials. The galley is positioned on the main deck, to bow, to ensure usability without sacrificing the living area, which seamlessly becomes part of the cockpit thanks hanks to a four-part sliding glass door. The indoor lounge area is served by two coffee tables – which convert into a large table for eight – and a 55” screen TV cabinet, while the outdoor one faces a large cabinet with wet bar. Even the style of the interior wants to stand out, combining elegance and simplicity with a strong character: two versions enhance the warm or the hi-tech hints: the latter was chosen for the first unit and features different gray shades on materials such as glossy-black flamed oak and tay wood.

Azimut S7 is powered by triple Volvo Penta IPS1050 with three 800 HP engines, for a top speed reckoned in excess of 35 knots. On the technical level the inspiration has been the so-called ACS (Advanced Cruising Solutions) program, aimed at ensuring the best performance: active trim control to automatically adjust the longitudinal balance of the boat, driving joystick, on-board integrated monitoring and control system, and auto balance system which transfers the fuel from one tank to the other to adjust the trim of the boat at varying load conditions.
S7 has been designed and manufactured according to the highest standards applied in the sector, thus she carries the HTS High Technical Standard declaration issued by the shipyard. The vessel also falls into the “A” CE certification and NMMA for boats under 24 meters.
